Between 2007 to 2010, I was studying for USMLE, trying to get observerships/externships, doing my masters and adjusting the the US lifestyle (cooking your own food or eating taco bell, doing your laundry, splitting the rent with my roommate etc). I was overwhelmed and confused. I was not sure if despite all this handwork, I was going to get residency or not. I was looking up forums, websites and any other resources I could find for credible information. When I created this website, I had single most important goal in my mind. To be authentic and genuine. I am practicing in the US now and I have learnt to navigate this system and help other IMGs do the same.
After starting my residency and later practicing as an assistant professor in a University program, I have realized that us IMGs are pretty damn smart and hardworking doctors. But most of us are not able to show this to the program director when we apply. I work with a lot of IMG applicants to help them prove their potential to the PDs for residency match.
Here is what some of my students have said about me:
“Thanks for working with me on my personal statement, You have always been helpful! “
“Thanks! I really love the content/advise of your skype calls, very informative.”
” I will be in touch with you for future query and question. And thanks one again for editing my CV”
” What you are doing for IMGs is such a huge encouragement. You helped me match”
” I passed step 3.Thanks to you”
” Thanks a lot for your valuable advice every step of the way for my application “‘
” Thank you so much Alpha IMG for your encouraging words.I will surely apply your recommendations.”
” Dear doc, Thank you for taking the time to talk with me yesterday. I sincerely appreciate the time you spent reviewing my career goals ”
